Team Spotlight: Julianna Furlano

IP (Isabel Power): Can you talk about your early years and when/why you started in the arts?

JF (Julianna Furlano): I started dancing at the age of 3 and fell in love with competitive dance - jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, hip hop, poms, and ballet. In middle school and high school, I started branching out and joined local productions of musicals.

IP How was your college experience, and what did you study?  

JF: I absolutely loved college! I was involved in many organizations on campus and volunteered in the local community and across the country. I performed in my college’s Dance Company and Dance Team, and took on leadership roles in both. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in both Biology and Sociology. 

IP How did those studies help prepare you for the professional entertainment world?

JF: College further developed my time management and leadership skills. With my studies, understanding human anatomy has helped me learn how to prevent injuries, along with maximizing strength and flexibility.

IP: What happened after college, and what eventually led you to Orlando? 

JF: During my last semester at college, I auditioned in Chicago for the Disney College Program. I booked a role in Entertainment and moved down to Orlando, Florida post graduation!

IP: What do you love about The City Beautiful?

JF: I love all of the live entertainment that we have to offer here. There is always something exciting to do with constant new offerings and a wide range of experiences.

IP: What do you love about live entertainment?

JF: Live entertainment brings a unique, personal experience that connects us all. I endeavor to make a connection with audience members during every performance, delivering an authentic and memorable experience.

IP: Since you have years of experience as a professional entertainer, how does that experience serve you when working with PEP?

JF: I bring 26 years of performing in front of live audiences and the experience and growth that comes from this. Every day I grow stronger as a performer and continue to bring everything I’ve learned to the table. I’m constantly pursuing personal and professional growth.

IP: What do you like about working with PEP?

JF: PEP is a phenomenal company to work for and it stems from our courageous leader, Isabel. PEP is always reliable and delivering fresh and innovative entertainment offerings.

IP: What has been one of your favorite events you’ve worked as a performer with PEP? 

JF: One of the most memorable events for me was teaching line dances at a daddy-daughter dance in Winter Park. Watching the connections and family bonding deepen was heartwarming.

IP: In addition to performing with PEP, we're so happy to also have you as an on-site manager at events. What do you enjoy most about being a manager with PEP?

JF: I enjoy getting to watch and experience the joy and passion our clients receive from our performances. The impact is profound. Also, it’s special to be able to witness all of the hard work the performers have put in - and then see the final product - it's very full circle!

IP: What excites you about the future? 

JF: I’m always looking forward to creating something new and unique.

IP: What's one tip you'd offer to an aspiring performer? 

JF: Work hard every day and maintain a positive attitude. Each day performing is a gift, so make sure to treat it as such. 

IP: What's one tip you'd offer to someone interested in booking live entertainment for an event?

JF: Live entertainment is the perfect way to elevate any event and create an unforgettable experience for your guests.
